Storify, a social media curation tool, is pretty neat. It lets you to create a compendium of a particular story by bringing in tweets, news stories, Flickr photos and video and adding a bit of your own context. It has its pros and cons – concisely laid out by 10,000 Words back in May – but overall it’s a net plus. A con that 10,000 Words missed, pointed out to me by a talented graphic designer, is the fact that the format doesn’t really allow for a uniform style, so it’s “messy as hell.” Oh well.
I’ve tried it a couple of times and I’m sure I’ll use it a lot more. Here’s my latest Storify story, a discussion of the horrific casino fire in Monterrey, Mexico last week.
It’s already been published on Storify’s site and through my Twitter feed, but I thought I’d re-post it here to allow for comments. Feel free to rip it apart in the comment thread below.
